For the International Association of Alpha Chapters for its exemplary performance in international leadership, philanthropic service, and organizational growth. The chapter successfully hosted the first truly hybrid IAAC District Conference in Accra, Ghana, elevating the fraternity’s presence in West Africa and strengthening international brotherhood. TAL facilitated the distribution of $11,000 in philanthropic funding, supporting initiatives like a national Prostate Awareness Campaign, high-school scholarships, and facility enhancements at Abeadze State College. The chapter ensured its sustainability and local impact by welcoming eight new brothers—six of whom reside primarily in Ghana—significantly expanding their presence on the ground.
Additionally, TAL demonstrated strong internal commitment through a Convention Subsidy Program to support delegate attendance and by establishing an active Health & Wellness Group Chat for brotherly encouragement. Their commitment to Alpha’s mission is further highlighted by serving as an unofficial liaison for the W.E.B. DuBois Foundation and their integral role in chartering the West African NPHC. Finally, TAL has intentionally cultivated a supportive and welcoming “Alpha at Home in Ghana” environment, hosting over 50 visiting Brothers since its founding.
In a major act of service, TAL donated vital infrastructure to Abeadze State College, including dining hall furniture, water pumps, and appliances. This donation was made during the Abeadze Ahobaa Kese Festival, celebrating the Omanhene’s 25th year on the throne. The support was met with gratitude by local leaders and school authorities.
Speaking on behalf of the chapter, Bro. Dr. Nana Kweku Nduom emphasized TAL’s ongoing commitment to Ghanaian education:
“Alphas promote scholarship, and to us, education is premium. This is just the beginning.”
In November 2024, the Tau Alpha Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. hosted the first-ever International Association of Alpha Chapters (IAAC) Conference on African soil. Held in Accra, Ghana, the conference welcomed Alpha brothers from around the world in a week of fellowship, cultural immersion, and strategic planning.
The event included visits to Cape Coast Castle, the W.E.B. DuBois Memorial Center, and Kakum National Park, strengthening ties to African heritage. Highlights included a Brotherhood Smoke, panel on “Health and Technology in Ghana,” and a scholarship gala awarding $6,000 in support of education initiatives, including a donation to BASICS International and scholarships to Ghanaian students.
With participation from Divine Nine partners and Alpha leadership, the conference reflected the fraternity’s expanding mission abroad. The final day ended with a church service and a retreat to Sankofa Beach House. The event was a defining milestone, affirming Alpha’s commitment to global leadership, education, and community service.
